High tailor-made engineering
From product cutting to packaging, Abrigo SpA grants process automation with maximum safety and hygiene
A brigo S.p.A. has just delivered to a primary Italian company, leader in the meat processing field, a fully automated line that cuts “hamburger-like” disks, through ultrasonic blades, from cylinders of pre-cooked meat and then, by means of anthropomorphic 6-axis robot, picks the slices coming from the cutting section and places them into the plastic vats of a thermo-forming machine placed downstream.
The line was highly customized for the specific customer, according to the distinctive “tailored engineering”, which is recognized as Abrigo’s core value: the shape of the cutting blade was unique for the customer, all metal parts are in AISI 316 stainless steel, the whole line can be washed through water jets and/or foaming machines; the cutting section can continuously adapt the thickness of the slices, in order to guarantee the desired weight of the finished product, the conveyor belts are in polycord, to minimize the surfaces touching the product and ease the sanitization procedures, the robot tool can be changed automatically and multiple picking tools are delivered with the machine, in order to allow changing the tool even during production (i.e. between one shift and another, or at change ofproduction type).
Therefore, Abrigo S.p.A. confirms its leadership in the design and manufacturing of highly versatile and customized ultrasonic cutting lines. Abrigo’s cutting lines are perfectly suitable for the confectionaryindustry, the bakery industry, the dairy industry, the meat processing industry and, in general, whenever sticky products have to be cut or an aesthetically extremely pleasant cut is demanded.
The combination of ultrasonic cutting with robotic pick and place or sorting systems, allows to automate the whole process, avoiding the need of interventions or handling by the operators, and the risk of product contamination.
